Thanks to partnerships with school districts around the state of Alaska, the ANSEP Middle School Academy is also offered during the school year specifically for students from those districts. Middle School Academy is an experience designed to promote science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education and careers. During this academic and residential academy, students engage in a variety of hands-on activities from building a computer, dissecting squid to testing structures on an earthquake simulation table and much more. Accepted students attend the academy free of charge.
The application for the ANSEP Anchorage Area Middle School Academy is now closed.
How to Apply
Students who have an interest in STEM, a “B” average in math and science, and are on an Algebra I math track are eligible to apply. Middle School Academy is directed towards underrepresented/underserved students.
